Oat bars

Some of Annabel's favourite recipes, produced so that you can cook along with her step by step. Simply pause the video whilst you complete that stage and enjoy some fantastic dishes for all the family.

Recipe :
80g (3 1/2 oz) butter
80g (3 1/2 oz) brown sugar
60g (2 1/2 oz) golden syrup
1/2 tsp salt
130g (4 1/2 oz) porridge oats
35g (1 1/2 oz) dried apple, chopped
35g (1 1/2 oz) dried apricots, chopped
25g (1 oz) dried cranberries
25g (1 oz) pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
25g (1 oz) desiccated coconut

In a saucepan, melt together the butter, sugar, golden syrup, and salt.
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl and stir in the butter and syrup mixture.
Line and grease a 20cm square baking tin.
Spoon the mixture into the tin and press down with the back of a spoon to level the surface.
Bake (in an oven pre-heated to 180oC) for 18 to 20 minutes
. Store in the fridge and cut into bars before serving.
